Important knowledge

What am I entitled and able to do?

It depends on the rights you have been granted. The above shows what editors can do on the Female Academics website.

  • Administrators have all rights.
  • Authors have the right to their own pages and posts.
  • Editors can create and delete pages, posts, images, etc., but cannot influence the structure and appearance of the website.

1 Create, edit, and delete your own posts
2 Edit the circle's page
3 Create, edit, and delete events
4 Create a new gallery
To be able to create attractive pages, posts, and events, you need to be able to

A add and edit text,

B upload, insert, and delete individual images,

C upload, insert, and link documents

D Create and edit links to other pages and to other websites.

Good to know now

ID and password

It is very important that you write down and save your password if you have a functional address (circuit name, etc.) as it may not be registered to your email address. You will then be unable to generate a new password. If there are several of you responsible for updates within the same circuit, you must notify each other when you change your password.

Function addresses

Many places have functional addresses that are forwarded to the responsible person's private email address. If responsibility is transferred to someone else, the address must of course be changed. This is handled by the administrator, who can log in to the web host and redirect the address. Several people can receive email to the same functional address, but only one function can have one ID with an associated password.

Help, I accidentally deleted a file...

Don't panic! You can undo it right away.

There is a recycle bin. Click on it and recycle the file.

Structure and format

WordPress is designed with templates and ready-made formats. Use these and don't invent your own, even if you can.

Structures are good. Regular text is called Paragraph. Click on the arrow to see other formats you can use. Heading 1 is the same as the page heading, so avoid it and use headings 2-4 instead.

Do not use blank lines, as this will make the text too sparse. Enter creates a new paragraph. New line within the same paragraph: Shift+Enter, as usual.

Never use spaces to try to format text, as this will only look ugly on other people's computers.

Lists look best if you use one of the two types offered: bullet points or numbers.

Familiarize yourself with the toolbar! Have fun creating your own posts, which you can delete afterwards or save as drafts.
